Google Business Profile Appeals Delayed

Rise in GBP Suspensions 📈
There has been a rise in Google business profile suspensions since January 2025, this is because Google has implemented stricter rules to their guidelines which has effected businesses in all categories. Ensuring your GBP is compliant is crucial to avoid suspensions.
Appeal Wait Time (March 2025)
Due to the rise in Google business profile suspensions since January there has been a backlog of appeals which has caused delays and currently the wait time is 4-6 weeks as each case has to be reviewed manually by Google staff.
Reverification Bug
A lot of businesses have been suspended within the last few weeks due to a Google bug that was triggering account reverifications which a Google employee claims to be fixed now, however in this situation you will still have to wait 4-6 weeks for your appeal to be reviewed even though you may have not did anything wrong.
Appeal Wait Time (December 2025)
According to Search Engine Roundtable there is yet another delay in the review process. Google is currently unable to provide a specific timeframe for when appeals will be reviewed due to the amount of pending cases.
Google has added this message to their support document.
‘’Important:
Due to an unusually high volume of review related appeals, processing times are currently extended. Please do not submit duplicate appeals as this causes further delays. We'll notify you as soon as your appeal is processed. Please visit this Community post for more information.’’
Avoid Resubmitting Your Appeal
If you have already submitted an appeal, it's important to be patient while waiting for a response. Even though the process can feel slow, Google does require time to ensure each case is properly assessed. If your appeal remains under review after 8 weeks, we recommend checking Google’s support pages or you can reach out to a product expert in the Google business profile community to get an update on your case. Please ensure you don’t submit a duplicate appeal as this lead to unnecessary delays.
Final Thoughts
We strongly advise not making any changes to your Google business profile until this matter has been resolved, as if you make the slightest change it could trigger a suspension resulting in your business not being visible on search results or maps for several weeks.
